Originally from Belen, New Mexico, Dr. Billie Adams completed high school at the New Mexico Military Institute and earned a BS in Biology from the University of New Mexico. A graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry, she practices general dentistry in her private practice in Albuquerque.
Her practice focuses on comprehensive dental care with an emphasis on function. She welcomes patients of all ages and prioritizes prevention and early intervention, helping families understand how oral health, jaw development, and breathing concerns can connect.
Dr. Adams treats patients of all ages, from infants to their great-grandparents and everyone in between. Her greatest career goal is to guide generations of families, providing lifetimes of optimal oral health and beautiful smiles.
Prestigious Fellowships
Dr. Adams earned a prestigious Fellowship from The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. She attained this great honor by submitting 20 successful implant cases for evaluation and completing 100+ hours of implant education over a five-year span.
She maintained her Fellowship status by completing an additional 100+ hours of approved implant education in the five years after it was awarded.
She has also earned a Dental Implant Fellowship from the Rocky Mountain Dental Institute.

A Commitment to Ongoing Improvement
Dr. Adams dedicates many hours to continuing education. Her training includes full mouth reconstruction, dental implants, clear aligner therapy, sleep-disordered breathing, and obstructive sleep apnea.
She has also trained in functional frenuloplasty, orofacial myofunctional therapy, TMJ disorders, growth guidance in pediatric patients, laser therapies, and non-surgical TAD-assisted expansion in adults. She is a graduate of the Tufts University Pediatric Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency.
Spear
At Spear Dental Study Club meetings, Dr. Adams works alongside an interdisciplinary team of dental experts to better understand how to achieve optimal case outcomes.
Pediatric Dental Sleep Medicine
Her Tufts University Pediatric Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency supports her focus on prevention, early intervention, and care for children with sleep-related breathing concerns.
CDOCS
As a member of CDOCS, Dr. Adams continues her education in digital dentistry and restorative care.
ITI
Participating in The International Team of Implantology (ITI) since 2012, Dr. Adams stays on the cutting edge of the most crucial advancements in dental implants.
Dental Sleep Solutions
Dr. Adams attends Dental Sleep Solutions meetings to make sure she has access to the latest in dental education, software, and training that is used to treat obstructive sleep apnea .
Affiliations
Dr. Adams is an active member of the International Team of Implantology, which she joined in 2012, as well as Spear Study Club and CDOCS. In 2013, she earned a Dental Implant Fellowship from the Rocky Mountain Dental Institute and a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Her affiliations also include ASAP (Airway, Sleep, And Pediatric Pathway), the World Dentofacial Sleep Society, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Foundation for Airway Health, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

Community Service
Dr. Adams believes it is part of her responsibility to give back to her community as often as she is able. Annually, she participates in the Mission of Mercy and New Mexico Donated Dental Services, offering free dental care to patients in need. She also gives back to her community by being an active member of the Rotary Club Albuquerque Del Norte since 2012.
Outside the Office
Our dentist takes great joy in serving the community she loves. When not volunteering or practicing dentistry, Dr. Adams lives an active life with her husband, two boys, and their family dog. All are from New Mexico and are very happy to be living life here!
A Special Focus on Airway Dentistry
Dr. Adams is passionate about airway dentistry and continues to develop her skills and knowledge in this area. Her journey in dental sleep medicine began with adults and oral appliance therapy. Learning about the mouth's role in breathing led her to ask how early dental care could help address these concerns.
That question brought her focus to pediatric sleep-disordered breathing and obstructive sleep apnea. In her community, she has worked to establish a multidisciplinary team that includes sleep physicians, ENTs, surgeons, and therapists to support coordinated patient care.
